You CAN use a 120v residential fixture in place of a 12v fixture if you wire the fixture to the existing 12v wiring, you use a compatible 12v bulb and you have an appropriate switch to operate the fixture. Integrated LED fixtures, flourescent bulbs or dimmable bulbs will not work.

We decided to do a test of our RV cleaner vs Dawn Heavy Duty Degreaser. We sprayed half of the filter with each cleaner, waited a few minutes then rinsed. The Dawn didn’t make a dent. We then resprayed the dawn side with our RV cleaner, waited a few minutes and rinsed again.
